Cynthia Nesselroade, M.A.
Cynthia Nesselroade comes to education with an understanding of communication, motivation, and human need. She is a Literacy Coordinator and coach in public education, as well as a literacy consultant for the West Virginia School Systems. She has focused her career in education on the processes of literacy and learning. Her desire to motivate and to reach and teach those, she refers to, as "in hiding" and to help them set and achieve their goals, is what distinguishes her work in collegial coaching.
Cynthia uses humor and practicality to inspire children and adults to want to learn and grow. Her goal is to bring children, teachers, and education to a path of success and achievement. She has worked throughout the United States as a premiere consultant of RFA: A Robin Fogarty Company, for the past five years. Her range of topics includes instructional topics: Closing the Achievement Gap, Instructional Best Practices, Differentiated Learning and Literacy Skills Across the Disciplines. She also works with the adult learner in the following areas: Data Driven Decisions, Coaching for Transfer and the Adult Learner.
Her degree credentials include: a B.A. in Family and Consumer Sciences and an M.A. in Reading from West Virginia University. In addition, she has an Educational Administration Certificate from Salem International University. Cynthia was awarded the Secondary Teacher of the Year Award from Upshure County in 2001. She is currently working on her first book, The Coach’s Handbook., based on her depth and breadth of experiences in the real world of improving schools.
Without exception, Cynthia’s professional development skill-building workshops are laced with humor, sensitivity and personal stories of school success. Above all else, Cynthia is a real teacher, with real heart, and it shows in everything she does!
